Four Months

I keep trying to answer 2 months when people ask how old Baby Lulu is, but that's a completely wrong answer - yesterday she turned 4 months old!  Time is totally flying by.

Four months old is when I started to blog, so it was Mommy's unofficial deadline in her head to make our move to lovetheludwigs.com.  Good thing it was unofficial, though, because we are not ready - anyone want to do some web design? For free? Because Mommy and I don't want to move until it looks as good over there as it does here, and we don't have the time or skill to do it ourselves, nor the budget to have someone else do it.  Sad face.  Poor Lulu is just clearly not going to have her own space in real life OR online for a while...

Anyway, My Baby Sister is getting so big!  She's 13 pounds, 10.5 ounces, and 24 inches tall according to Dr. Andy - which puts her in the 50th percentile for both. She's king of a pinhead; her head circumference is only in the 20th percentile.  Good thing she has those chubby cheeks to balance her appearance out!  She's growing out of her 0-3 month clothes, but Mommy is just not ready to put them away yet... plus her 3-6 month clothes are mostly summery and it's still a little chilly out.

Baby Lulu is super talented - she can *almost* roll over from back to belly, and she blows little bubbles, and she coos ALL the time.  She's always trying to talk to me, but I have to ask Mommy what she's saying.  Turns out she tells me she loves me a lot!  She continues to be a super-smiley cheerful baby, AND she sleeps through the night - and has for months.  Mommy will point out that *some* of us didn't sleep through the night until we were over 16 months old.  She slept all the way through her first airplane ride, even - she and Mommy visited friends in Pittsburgh this weekend (and they left me home to take care of Daddy).

BabyCenter time:

Mastered Skills (most kids can do)
  • Smiles, laughs - That's pretty much ALL she does!

  • Can bear weight on legs - She likes to play the up/down game on Mommy's lap - and then she does more smiling and laughing.
  • Coos when you talk to her - She has a LOT to say.  She coos way more than I ever did - of course I'm making up for it now!
Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)
  • Can grasp a toy - She will hold her binky with a death grip.
  • Rolls over from tummy to back - Not really.  Mommy promises that we *do* tummy time, but Lulu pretty much just complains the whole time - she HATES it. So you'd *think* she'd spend those minutes trying to flip herself, but mostly she just complains and makes little swimming motions.
Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)
  • Imitates sounds ("baba," "dada") - Nope. But she'll totally stick her tongue out at you if you stick yours at her.
  • Cuts first tooth - Not yet! I had 2 teeth at 4 months, which probably contributed to my general crankiness, so Mommy's not particularly looking forward to this milestone. Other milestones that Baby Lulu could take her time with as far as Mommy's concerned? Crawling. Walking. Baby Lulu can just take her time with mobility...
  • May be ready for solid foods - We're going to wait until about 6 months, since Baby Lulu will start solids with Baby Led Weaning like I did - no baby cereal here!

  1. I can't make a layout from scratch, but I'm pretty good at making graphics to alter the look of a freebie layout that you like. Let me know if you need help.
