8 Months

Poor Baby lulu - she is so clearly the second child.  Neglect-o-baby!  Monday, as I've mentioned, was my first day of school - but it was also Baby Lulu's 8 monthday and her first day of Music for Aardvarks - and yet you've heard nothing of that, have you? AND Mommy didn't get any Aardvarks pics because she used the last of her camera battery on my school shots.  Oops!

Despite being completely ignored, Lulu seems to be totally content most of the time - she is a HUGE flirt and the smiliest baby ever.  Up until about a week ago she slept really well, too, but we must be in the middle of some Wonder Week/teething nonsense because all of a sudden she and Mommy have been having parties at 2AM.  Mommy does not love those.

She is officially mobile now - she crawls even better than in the video below, and always wants to be near me and play with my toys.  I'm very good about sharing with her - and if I take a toy away from her, I always get her something else to play with.  I am so good at sharing, in fact, that Lulu has already had her first taste of peanut butter! Mommy went into the other room for a moment and Lulu seemed hungry so I gave her a bite of my sandwich.

Here is a video for your enjoyment:

We don't visit Dr. Andy again for another month, so these are just guesstimates, but Mommy would put Baby Lu at about 18 pounds or so - she's still in size 3 diapers and mostly in 9 month or so clothes.

Baby Center time.

Mastered Skills (most kids can do)
  • Says "mama" or "dada" to parents (not specific) - She babbles a TON, but I don't think I've heard a Mama or Dada in there anywhere...

  • Passes object from hand to hand - Yup.
Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)
  • Stands while holding onto something - This? is her favorite thing. EVER.
  • Crawls - Did you see the video?

  •  Points at objects - I don't think so; she pretty much sees what she wants and goes after it.
Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)
  • Pulls self to standing, cruises - No. And Mommy will thank you not to put ideas in her head.
  • Picks things up with thumb-finger pincer grasp - Yes, and immediately puts them in her mouth.
  • Indicates wants with gestures - Not really - she just goes after whatever she wants... She really doesn't wait around for someone else!

  1. Um, Cole? When did you become a little boy and not a baby? This is HIGHLY inappropriate.

    And Happy Month-day Lulu :)

  2. That video was awesome! I love the Army crawl...go Lulu!...but what I found especially funny was the toy snatching at the end. Ahhh, Cole, I don't know who you would get along better with, Rylie or Bryce. ;-)

I love the "Neglect-o-baby" reference too! Do you know that I STILL have never opened Bryce's baby book? Sigh.

I know, I'm cute, right? Is that what you were going to say? Go ahead, you can pinch my cheeks.
