A Preschooler's Guide to Rosh Hashanah

It's almost time for the Jewish New Year! Rosh Hashanah starts this Monday, and I've been learning all about it in school this week.  I learned that Rosh Hashanah is the birthday of the world, and that every year we get the chance for a fresh start.  We go to synagogue to hear the shofar (ram's horn) blow, we eat sweet foods like apples dipped in honey, and we say "Shana Tovah" or "Happy New Year!"

We have a few new members of the family this year; obviously Baby Lulu will be celebrating her first High Holiday season, and also we could not be more excited that Uncle Matt got engaged to Aunt Maya!  Aunt Maya came to Baby Lulu's naming way back in January and was interested in learning more about what was going on, so I thought she might be interested in Rosh Hashanah, too!  I made a movie!



I'm going to post the lyrics to the Rosh Hashanah song that I refused to sing, here - I want to keep my voice fresh for when I sing it on the bima on Monday!
